The Cellars-Hohenort undergoes luxury room refurbishments

By Zimasa Ndaba, 27th July 2017 Posted in: News

The 5-star Cellars-Hohenort hotel in Cape Town’s Constantia valley is currently undergoing a series of upgrades to many of its rooms and suites as part of a refurbishment project set to enhance the already superior guest experience.

Says Dominic Prendergast, General Manager of The Cellars-Hohenort, “We’re diligent about continually enhancing and improving the guest experience to guarantee we live up, not only to our world-class location, but also to our commitment to ensure guests leave feeling better than when they arrived.”

Twelve newly transformed rooms and suites, many located in the property’s historic Hohenort building, will remain true to the hotel’s unique heritage and setting. Individually decorated, each guest room will evoke an atmosphere of understated elegance and feature classical décor pieces blended with more modern elements. Decorated in shades of natural and blue, rooms will feature new soft furnishings and upholstered headboards, custom furniture and fixtures, tailor-made accents, and display a warm, luxurious feel complemented by plush new carpeting.

“The goal of the refurbishments,” explains Janet De Jager, on-site interior decorator for The Collection by Liz McGrath (of which Cellars-Hohenort is a part), “is to maintain the property’s unique atmosphere and authenticity but incorporate necessary touches of modernity for a refreshed and updated look,” she says. “We anticipate that the refurbishments will be complete by end July.”

Many of the newly appointed guest rooms in this 51-room hotel offer spectacular views across nine acres of world-renowned gardens and vineyards, along with high standards of service, comfort and style. Two swimming pools, a tennis court, full-service spa, hairdresser and boutique complete the picture. As part of the overall refurbishment project, several of the hotel’s public areas will also receive subtle updates in the form of new upholstery and soft furnishings. These updates will ensure this majestic hotel is ideally poised to continue its rich legacy into the next millennia.
