Moving collaboration brings access to Cape Town Cycle Tour

Moving collaboration brings access to Cape Town Cycle Tour

By Yolande, 22nd March 2017 Posted in: News

Despite windy conditions resulting in the cancellation of the Cape Town Cycle Tour, four differently-abled children were able to experience the excitement and preparation in the build-up to event.

The Cycle Tour rules were changed in 2013 to allow children with disabilities to participate in the event, towed in buggies by cyclists. The participation of people living with disabilities, including children, showcases the organisers’ willingness to adopt Universal Access principles, that ensure that events and attractions are designed to facilitate the participation of all.

Cape Town Tourism backed the effort to include the children in the event by endorsing the buggies that the children would have participated in.
